Found this in the kids' drawer. They haven't played with it for years. I knew I was saving it for something :D View in large format for best detail.
It's a spinning top looking at the bottom of it up.
This will be a real challenge for me. As my 30 day photography challenge I have chosen to shoot with "The Golden Mean" or "Golden Rectangle" (closely related to the rule of thirds) as my theme. It is composition I will be focusing on rather than a specific subject. Knowing this is my weakest area of my photography should really force me to learn. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1013&message=29939768
But what is it?? Great choice of colors!!
ReplyDeleteLove your off center crop!
The greens are absolutely beutiful - you've captured them well. Not sure about the background colour though. And I have the same question as cridley, what is it???
ReplyDeleteAMAZING FIND!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good you thought of it, I think it's the best example of the GM yet, to my eye, as it is so natural and the curves are marvelous.
Great colour in the subject, I don;t think it goes too well with the BG colour though.
ReplyDeleteI like how the yellow shines through the toy, makes it seem like there's something going on inside there.
ReplyDeleteWay cool! Texture, color and that mysterious light from behind!
ReplyDeleteGreat colour and I personally love the green and yellow together. Almost very even analogous pallette. Great lighting on the curves, but I am intrigued that the bottom spinning end of the top looks a bit blobby rather than nice and sharp. Great find!
ReplyDeleteVery smooth curves, it almost looks soft, like play dough or ice cream... It looks like the Australian national colours.
ReplyDeleteLove this one - the bright colors shout spring time. It almost looks like soft-serv icecream.
