Day 18
This is Roscoe our Christmas Beagle (Heinz 57 mix) It was such a beautiful day my daughter and I took him to the park. After running around he settled down with his find of the day. I noticed the mountains in the background and got down on the grass while he was busy with his stick. I'd love some suggestions as far as post processing. I did some but I always hesitate on taking things too far.

Did you lie on the grass for this? It's a great perspective! I think the light is a tad bit harsh so maybe playing with the exposure some?
ReplyDeleteRoscoe looks so contented - lying there with his stick! I like the way the sun is shining on him. Makes the warn brown tones show up a bit more. And sorry, no hints from me as I don't really know what I'm doing anyway!!
ReplyDeleteAbbe - I've been playing with this a bit. I did the curves black dropper, white dropper thing, then did a little selective color adjustments. I busted the green a bit mainly. Its not a huge difference, but I think it helped some.
ReplyDeleteI know Kmbomac will be along shortly to put her expertise to work.
Having said all that....its a great shot, and a great perspective..and such a cutie pie doggie!!
Lovely picture, Wonderful composition. I don;t think that the lighting is harsh at all, there's nothign really blown out in the picture and there seems (to me at least) to be a decent ranges of tones in the image.
ReplyDeleteAww..he's so cute! I think it looks good the way it is.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours and tones, and the hyperfocal sharpness from front to back works so well. I love the very big foreground interest of the dog, and the setting he is in, shown by the perspective you have used is fabulous. Whilst I do love this composition, I am not sure I see the golden mean as strongly in this one as in some of your other shots though.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what sort of post-processing could improve this apart from to make something gimmicky, like B&W, sepia, mega-saturated colours, partial desat or some softening blur. All interesting effects, but for an ideal photo-realistic shot, I think you have really nailed it! Well done.
So sweet! I love how big he is in contrast to the mountains.
ReplyDeleteI tend to go from the outer part of the spiral inward. Is that odd or the norm? maybe it's guided by the light. So, here I wind up on that thin line (a fence?) but I'm not sure why. Then I go back to Roscoe and his wood. what a cutie pup! Teething? Hey, his teeth go the other way as the "alter" GM, but we can's see them. Do they count, too?
