While at the park I spotted this old oak tree and it's root above ground.

This will be a real challenge for me. As my 30 day photography challenge I have chosen to shoot with "The Golden Mean" or "Golden Rectangle" (closely related to the rule of thirds) as my theme. It is composition I will be focusing on rather than a specific subject. Knowing this is my weakest area of my photography should really force me to learn. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1013&message=29939768
wow! What a great addition to your theme.
ReplyDeleteThat root looks so mangled and damaged! That would be a good place for a flower bed...right in the cirle of roots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find for your theme, I love this one. Good photograph, nice and moody too.
ReplyDeleteI like the way the roots seem to be circling the earth. And I really like the colours and detail in this one.
ReplyDeleteNice work.

Great shot! I still dont understand your theme, mostly because I havent taken the time to read the link you provided (but I will) - But Im loving your shots, regardless of understanding! :D
ReplyDeleteIm in love with this form circle/curve/elipse in the composition. Don´t know if it happens to other people: I can see the same way in all his other pictures.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is simply amazing!
Such a graphic shot I love it
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic find! And it fits your Golden Mean composition so well. Very nice work!
ReplyDeleteThe depth in your photo is a perfect way to show the golden mean. Love seeing the composition draw my eye into the shot.
