May be not as obvious as some of the other shots but I think this one follows the Golden Mean.

This will be a real challenge for me. As my 30 day photography challenge I have chosen to shoot with "The Golden Mean" or "Golden Rectangle" (closely related to the rule of thirds) as my theme. It is composition I will be focusing on rather than a specific subject. Knowing this is my weakest area of my photography should really force me to learn. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1013&message=29939768
I dont know about the "Golden Mean"...but I do love this shot! The composition, colors, textures...everything! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat composition. I think I see it from the top left, down past the big headlight, then up to the right, and curling round to end in that bright orange indicator light! Very nicely done. The lighting is great too. Not too harsh and contrasty for the poor old dear!
ReplyDeleteOld cars....my favorite subject next to abandoned buildings....another great example for your "golden" collection
ReplyDeleteThe eye is definitely drawn to the orange light! I like how you've chosen an old rusty car to photograph - far more interesting than a new one!
ReplyDeleteBest picture so far. Great Job.

This looks marvelous in full view.
ReplyDeleteGritty, rust and all.
The GM is a bit harder to see but once you get to the orange side light your eye gets dizzy going around and around.
You captured it's beauty very well and the orange lamp is the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeletetook me a moment to spot it! I love the choice of the rusty car, as well as the orange lamp standing out because of its colour, it also appears to stand out as something newer....
ReplyDeleteMy eye is drawn from the orange light, to the headlight and then lastly towards the top left corner where the D is.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Yes, I see it. Very cool.
