Just happened to pass a bunch of wooden shipping flats and noticed the GM. I left a bit of the natural wood bits in the upper right and lower left. The wood was painted this blue color at the ends only.
This will be a real challenge for me. As my 30 day photography challenge I have chosen to shoot with "The Golden Mean" or "Golden Rectangle" (closely related to the rule of thirds) as my theme. It is composition I will be focusing on rather than a specific subject. Knowing this is my weakest area of my photography should really force me to learn. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1013&message=29939768
This is certainly eye catching. The detail is fabulous and I think the natual colour around the edges complements the blue.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture, very interesting to see a shot of a blue painted log end. Nice detail kept in the grain.
ReplyDeleteA marvelous grainy find, again! I wonder why they paint them blue?
ReplyDeleteThe GM is very plain to see here, through your blog I'm seeing the whole GM thing so much clearer.
Thanks!
Nice concentric circles in this. The colours go very well together and your golden mean is very clear... Well done.
