Sally the salamander. My daughter found her under a rock outside. She was most likely hibernating.

This will be a real challenge for me. As my 30 day photography challenge I have chosen to shoot with "The Golden Mean" or "Golden Rectangle" (closely related to the rule of thirds) as my theme. It is composition I will be focusing on rather than a specific subject. Knowing this is my weakest area of my photography should really force me to learn. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1013&message=29939768
so you just asked her to pose in a perfect golden mean position and she complied? How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh! She's real! She looks like a plastic toy! I've never heard (let alone seen) of a salamander before. Looks like she comes from the worm family.
ReplyDeleteOh, shame, I hope you put her back there to hibernate! She is probably shocked out of her skin to be out and about if she would prefer to be sleeping. I have never seen one of these in real life, but she looks very cute. Love the flashes of yellow! Nice one.
ReplyDeleteWe only had her inside for a couple of minutes, I think my daughter's middle name is Mother Nature. She put the salamander back right away. This one was about 4 inches long.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie pie, I just adore those tiny rounded toes, and the yellow dots are striking.
ReplyDeleteDelightful!
What an awesome creature. I've never seen a salamander up close before.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Sally look so good! Must be the awesome photography!
